Medical issue likely in death of trucker

A truck driver died Tuesday from an apparent medical issue after a two-vehicle crash in Defiance, Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Dorian McDaniel, 37, of Cleveland was driving south on Ohio 15, just north of U.S. 24, shortly before 8 a.m. when he suffered the suspected medical issue, the highway patrol in Defiance said in a statement.

His semi drifted left of center and collided with a northbound car driven by Susan Kearney, 61, of Napoleon, Ohio, according to the highway patrol.

McDaniel was taken to Defiance Regional Hospital, where he died from the suspected medical issue, police said.

Kearney was treated at Defiance Mercy Hospital for minor injuries and released.

The Defiance County coroner will investigate the cause of McDaniel's medical condition, police said.

1 injured after vehicle flips

One person is in serious condition at a hospital after his vehicle flipped on its side at West Washington Boulevard and Nelson Street about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Fort Wayne police.

No other information was available Tuesday night.
