Arrest made in Huntington stabbing

A man was arrested and another hospitalized after a stabbing in Huntington, police said.

Police were called Monday night to 1370 Evergreen Road and found two men in their mid-20s with injuries. One was flown to a hospital and the other was taken to the police annex.

Cristian N. Shepperd was arrested about 6 p.m. Tuesday on felony charges of attempted robbery and battery with a deadly weapon.

Police declined to name the victim but said he was in stable condition. The sheriff's department, state police, Huntington Fire Department and Parkview Huntington Hospital assisted police. 

Man, 42, accused of molesting girl

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Ty P. McElroy, 42, of Columbia City, charged with two counts of child molesting. McElroy was staying at the Red Roof Inn in Fort Wayne when he molested an 8-year-old girl between April and October 2015, court records said.
