3 critically injured as 2 motorcycles crash

ASHLEY SLOBODA | The Journal Gazette

Three motorcyclists were critically injured Saturday afternoon in southern Allen County when one motorcycle lost control, causing another to crash, police said.

The wreck happened about 2:30 p.m. after two motorcycles turned onto westbound Ferguson Road from U.S. 27, said Steve Stone, Allen County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

According to Stone, the motorcycle in front lost control and hit the guardrail, and the other motorcycle ran into the wreck, causing it to crash.

The three people involved were taken to hospitals in critical condition, Stone said. He said the man on the first motorcycle was flown while the man and woman traveling behind him were transported by ambulance.

Stone did not have updates on their conditions Sunday.
