JAMIE DUFFY | The Journal Gazette

Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control is asking the public to help find people responsible for mistreating a dog found on Decatur Road April 2.

The dog was found emaciated after Animal Care & Control received a tip there was a stray dog in the 7900 block of Decatur Road, Holly Pasquinelli, community relations and education specialist at Animal Care & Control, said today.

Officers searched the area for an owner, but were not able to find one, Pasquinelli said.

The pit bull mix had to be euthanized because he had such severe medical issues, Pasquinelli said.

This dog is one of several cold cases the organization is investigating and will feature every Thursday on Animal Care & Control’s website, Pasquinelli said.
