A former TV anchorwoman has been charged with drunken driving and neglect of a dependent.
Mary Collins Frank was formally charged Wednesday with three counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and one count of neglect of a dependent.
All four counts are felonies. Prosecutors are also asking that she be declared a habitual vehicular substance offender.
Prosecutors allege that about 6:15 p.m. Sunday, Frank, 49, of the 6500 block of Cornwallis Drive, was seen weaving while driving and then sitting at a stop sign at Autumn Ridge Lane and Illinois Road. A police officer reported that she was argumentative before eventually cooperating. Two breath tests measured her blood-alcohol level at 0.222 percent and 0.218 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Frank had a child younger than 18 in the car, court records said.
She told police she drank one bloody mary cocktail at a friend’s house about 11 a.m. She said she had taken some medication that morning.
Frank, a former anchorwoman at Indiana’s NewsCenter, was convicted of operating a vehicle while intoxicated in 2009 and 2012.
