A man was shot and killed late Sunday night on the 4600 block of Oliver Street, Fort Wayne police said.
According to a news release, police were called to the area about 10:23 p.m. on a report of shots fired, and it was the second time they'd responded to the area regarding shots fired that day.
Upon arrival, officers witnessed multiple vehicles and people fleeing the scene on foot.
After an investigation, a residence was discovered to have several bullet holes in it, the release states. After finding the bullet holes, officers checked for victims, which is when the man was discovered with the gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased.
According to the release, the person who summoned police may be a witness, but more witnesses are being sought, including those who reported this incident, as well as the one earlier in the day.
No other injuries were reported.
