Morning drug raid nets 2

Two men were arrested this morning after a tip that someone was dealing drugs from a south-side home, Fort Wayne police said.

After obtaining a search warrant, Fort Wayne police narcotics officers and the Emergency Services Team conducted a search of 1211 E. Paulding Road, city police said in a statement.

Three adults were inside the home at the time of the search, the statement said. Two were arrested, it said, and the third was not charged and was released.

Police said Justin W. Jeffery, 26, from Fort Wayne, was charged with three counts of dealing cocaine or narcotic drug, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a syringe and a misdemeanor.

They said Joyone L. Wright, 38, also from Fort Wayne, was charged with two counts of aiding in dealing cocaine or narcotic drug, and maintaining a common nuisance.

Police also found 35.2 grams of heroin, 4.9 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and more than $2,600 in cash, the statement said.
