Ivy Tech flooding repairs to cost $300,000
The flood that temporarily displaced Ivy Tech Fort Wayne students and staff caused $300,000 in damage, and the last of the repairs should be completed next month, a vice chancellor told trustees during a regional board meeting Monday.
Record rainfall on Aug. 29 forced the community college to evacuate its North Campus and find temporary locations for some classes and offices. Flooding primarily affected the Student Life Center and the basement of Harshman Hall.
Carpets, baseboards and drywall accounted for most of the damage, said Susan Brown, vice chancellor of enrollment services.
"No equipment, thank God," she said.
