Best-selling children's author Laura Numeroff will speak and sign books at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Allen County Public Library.

The event is in the theater of the downtown library, 900 Library Plaza.

Admission is free and tickets are not required.

Numeroff is best known for the series based on her book “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.”

First published in 1985, her original book is now beyond its 60th printing.

The fourth book in her series, “If You Take a Mouse to the Movies,” was on the New York Times' children's best-seller list for five months, including nine weeks at No. 1.

Numeroff will discuss her work and career, followed by a reading and book-signing. Signed books are limited to three per group, with only one of the books being brought from home.

Barnes & Noble will have copies of Numeroff's books available to buy.  Her latest release is an adult parody of her popular children's books, titled “If You Give a Man a Cookie: A Parody.”

Zinnia's Bakehouse will also be at the library for the event with a pop-up cookie shop.
