Thomas Bassett of Kendallville was one of 11 financial representatives recently inducted into the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Hall of Fame. He is a financial associate for the Indiana Region of Thrivent Financial.

Joel Bentz has been promoted to field supervisor for the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority/American Medical Response. He has been a paramedic in Fort Wayne for six years.

Kristina Holmes will join the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce as vice president of member relations and communications.

The following promotions have been announced within the Allen County Sheriff’s Department: Ronald W. Rayl, captain of Internal Affairs; Norman S. Huffine, lieutenant in the Warrants Division; Michael A. Bennington , sergeant in the Warrants Division; also Anthony J. Pape, Brian M. Jarboe and Gerald R. Hogan , corporal in the Criminal Investigations Division.

Branch R. Lew , partner at Hunt Suedhoff Kalamaros LLP, was selected for inclusion in the 2009 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, in the specialty of personal injury litigation.

Members of the Allen County Bar Association elected Douglas E. Johnston, a partner with the law firm of Tourkow, Crell, Rosenblatt and Johnston, as president. Others elected: Magistrate Jennifer DeGroote, Allen County Superior Court, as president-elect; Daniel G. McNamara of Eilbacher Fletcher LLP, vice president; and Holly A. Brady of Haller & Colvin P.C., secretary. Directors elected were R. David Boyer II , Boyer & Boyer; V. Scott Kingdon, Lincoln National Life Insurance Co.; Grant A. Liston , Carson Boxberger; and Joshua C. Neal, Barrett & McNagny LLP. Howard L. Chapman, John H. Heiney , Richard Ver Wiebe and John R. Zern were honored with Golden Career Awards to celebrate their 50 years as lawyers. Edward E. Beck of Shambaugh, Kast, Beck & Williams received the Niemann Citation for Excellence and Professionalism, and George G. Martin was honored with the Outstanding Contributor Award for service to the Allen County Bar Association during the past year.
