DETROIT – General Motors Co. said Friday it is recalling more than 4,000 of its 2012 Chevrolet Sonic subcompact cars to check for missing brake pads.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Pottery Barn Kids announced Thursday a voluntary recall of Madeline canopy beds.

More retailers, including those in Indiana, have pulled a batch of powdered infant formula from their shelves after a newborn who consumed it apparently died of a rare bacterial infection. The source of the infection has not been confirmed.
The Addison, Ill., company has received six reports of injuries, including cuts, bruises and redness. Kitchen damage was also reported.

An elliptical exercise trainer sold under the model name Schwinn 460 and distributed by Nautilus Inc. of Vancouver, Wash., has been recalled.
The commission said the battery case can overheat while charging, posing a fire hazard. More than a dozen such cases have been reported, with minor burns to three people and four reports of minor property damage.
