Indiana University and IPFW have agreed to a three-game men's basketball series beginning Dec. 9 in Bloomington, and next year's game will be at Memorial Coliseum, IPFW said today.
The third game will be in Bloomington during the 2018-19 season.
"Hosting Indiana is an incredible opportunity for IPFW basketball fans," athletic director Kelley Hartley Hutton said in a statement. "Indiana men's basketball has a rich basketball tradition, and we are excited to bring a program of that caliber to Fort Wayne next year."
Head coach Jon Coffman said: "This game is an exciting opportunity for our program, the university and the city of Fort Wayne. We appreciate Tom Crean's openness to bring the Hoosiers to Fort Wayne and add to our city's basketball tradition and history. This is a great opportunity for both fan bases, and we look forward to a packed Coliseum next season."
The matchup is part of a tournament that will bring four games to Fort Wayne during a two-week period. Indiana's ticket office will handle sales for the game at Memorial Coliseum, and IPFW will have "a limited number of tickets, which will be made available for sale to its fan base through the IPFW ticket office," the statement said.
Priority will be given to current season ticket holders and donors to IPFW athletics, the statement said.
