Outlook: Former Snider player Jessie Bates, a safety, is the only Indiana native on the Wake Forest roster. Bates, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound redshirt freshman, has a team-best 15 solo tackles and three assists this season. … Wake Forest is the first ACC team to play in Bloomington since Virginia in 2011. … Indiana has won eight straight nonconference games. It has also won six straight nonconference games at Memorial Stadium for the first time since its 20-game streak from 1985 to 1995. … Last week, Wake Forest gave up only 94 yards of offense to Delaware. It was the fewest given up by the team since 1955, when Virginia Tech mustered only 68. … The Demon Deacons have scored 69 points, making them the lowest-scoring 3-0 team in the country (Utah is next with 78 points). … While Wake Forest has given up only 12.7 points per game, Indiana has surrendered only 16.5. … Indiana’s plus-5 takeaway margin is second best in the nation. The Hoosiers have six takeaways, including four interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns. … Defensive back Marcelino Ball is the reigning Freshman of the Week in the Big Ten. For the season, he has 13 tackles and one interception. … Devine Redding has started the season with consecutive 100-yard games, giving him five in his career, all in a row. That’s tied with LSU’s Leonard Fournette for the longest active streak in the nation. Redding has 48 carries for 245 yards this year. … Richard Lagow has completed 35 of 54 passes for 506 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. … If Indiana wins, it will be its second straight 3-0 start and the 17th in school history.
