Miami (Ohio) at Notre Dame
Notre Dame defense vs. Gus Ragland: Miami's redshirt junior quarterback has thrown eight touchdowns this year against only two interceptions and is averaging 7.6 yards per attempt. The Irish defense has nine takeaways in four games after posting 28 the previous two seasons.
Injuries and suspensions: Irish defensive tackle Elijah Taylor (foot) and wide receiver Freddy Canteen (shoulder), two of Notre Dame's rotational players, are out. No. 2 running back Dexter Williams (ankle) is questionable. Third-string running back Tony Jones Jr. (ankle) is probable. ... For the RedHawks, starting linebacker Junior McMullen (undisclosed) is questionable. Starting defensive end Dean Lemon (leg) is doubtful. Starting safety Tony Reid, ejected for targeting last week, must sit out the first half today because of NCAA rules.
Equanimeous St. Brown vs. Miami secondary: St. Brown has gotten off to a bit of a slow start with 11 catches for 160 yards and only one touchdown, nowhere near the pace of last season's 58-catch, 961-yard campaign.
Prediction: Notre Dame 42, Miami 20
