The Irish improved to 17-1 in games played before the holiday break under coach Mike Brey. Notre Dame is 16-1 under Brey in the first game following the break. ... Senior forward Bonzie Colson was named the ACC Player of the Week after leading the Irish to two wins before the holiday break. He averaged 26.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in wins over Dartmouth and Southeastern Louisiana. Colson has scored in double figures in 30 straight games and leads all current ACC players with 31 career double-doubles and 816 career rebounds. He leads the team with 21.3 points and 9.8 rebounds, while Matt Farrell is 16.8 points and 5.2 assists and T.J. Gibbs is at 14.4 points.
Georgia Tech: The Yellow Jackets are opening ACC play on the road for the fourth time in the last five years. ... Georgia Tech has lost five of its last seven games. ... Tech's leading scorer and last year's ACC all-freshman team player, Josh Okogie, missed the first eight games. Yellow Jackets players have missed 19 total games to injuries this season. Okogie leads the team with 18.5 points per game, in only four games. Tadric Jackson, who missed the first three games, is second with 15.9 points per game. ... Josh Pastner led Georgia Tech to an NIT runner-up finish last year and won the ACC Coach of the Year award.
