Outlook: The Irish are coming off a 51-49 win over Syracuse on Rex Pflueger's putback layup with two seconds left in the Carrier Dome. Notre Dame's fifth straight win was its first at Syracuse since 2007. ...

Notre Dame was playing the Orange without ACC Preseason Player of the Year Bonzie Colson and veteran guard Matt Farrell. The Irish trailed 28-19 at halftime but had an 8-0 run to open the second half to cut the deficit. Colson and Ferrell are out for tonight. ... On Monday, Irish sophomore guard T.J. Gibbs was named ACC Player of the Week. He averaged 20 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in the victories over North Carolina State and Syracuse. ... Notre Dame and Georgia Tech met at Purcell Pavilion on Dec. 30, a 68-59 Irish win. Notre Dame trailed at halftime in that game, too, 28-23, but outscored the Yellow Jackets 45-31 in the second half to pull away. ... Notre Dame is 1-3 at McCamish Pavilion in ACC play, with all three losses coming by a combined eight points, including last-second losses in the last two visits. ... Georgia Tech had four players in double-figure scoring in the first meeting: Josh Okogie (16), Tadric Jackson (15), Jose Alvarado (11) and Ben Lammers (11 points, 12 rebounds). ... Georgia Tech is coming off a 74-60 nonconference win over Yale on Saturday after a 64-54 ACC win Jan. 3 over Miami.
