North Side girls off to best start since '03
The North Side girls basketball team is 2-0 to start the season for the first time since 2003 after a 75-36 win over Muncie Burris on Saturday.
MaKyla Wilchar led the Legends with 17 points, Nya Coleman added 15 points and six steals and Ja'Shanek Brooks and LaQuisha Ruth each scored 11.
Chanel Tyra and Brooks also added 11 rebounds.
BISHOP LUERS 42, WARSAW 30: At Bishop Luers, Kathryn Knapke led the Knights (1-0) with 12 points and eight rebounds. Maddie Ryman scored eight to lead the Tigers (0-1).
CARROLL 56, COLUMBIA CITY 38: At Columbia City, Kelli Damman led the Chargers (1-0) with 18 points and Laney Steckler added 14.
Olivia Shearer scored 16 for the Eagles (0-1).
BELLMONT 60, GARRETT 28: At Bellmont, Grace Hunter scored 17 and Emily Fuelling added 16 for the Braves (1-0). Hannah Sobieski scored seven for the Railroaders (1-1).
WEST NOBLE 68, BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 18: At Blackhawk Christian, Megan Godfrey led the Chargers (1-0) with 12 points, Lauren Burns added 11 and Tara Miller 10. Kyr'e Mercer scored eight for the Braves (0-2).
WAWASEE 47, PRAIRIE HEIGHTS 22: At Wawasee, Aubrey Kuhn had 14 points and six rebounds, Hannah Marie Lamle had 13 points and eight rebounds and Hannah Lancaster scored eight for the Warriors (1-1).
WOODLAN 53, NEW HAVEN 29: At Woodlan, Addison Bayman led the Warriors (1-1) with 27.
