Archers boys earn win over Lions
Cortney Shorter scored 18 points and Trajan Didier added 16 to lead the South Side boys basketball team to a 78-69 victory at Leo on Saturday.
Mikale Stephens scored 15 points and six rebounds for the Archers, who led by eight at halftime, 15 points in the third quarter and stayed in control the rest of the way.
Jeremy Davison led all scorers with 26 points on 11-for-19 shooting, including 7 of 13 on 3-pointers for the Lions. Lane Reed added 12.
NORWELL 49, ADAMS CENTRAL 43: In Monroe, senor Brandon Nicholson scored 15 points to lead three players in double-figure scoring to pace the Knights.
Luke Zeddie scored 13 and sophomore Will Geiger added 10 for Norwell, which led at every checkpoint.
Jets junior Kevin Browns led all scorers with 23 points.
BLACKFORD 68, BLUFFTON 62: In Blackford, Luke Brown scored a game-high 32 points to lead the hosts. Johnathan Irwin led the Tigers with 18 points. He was helped by Max Corie's 16 and Everett Johnson's 12.
DALEVILLE 46, SOUTH ADAMS 44: In Berne, Connor Fleming scored 19 points to lead the visitors, who trailed 31-25 entering the fourth quarter.
The Starfires were led by Kody Fike's 23 points and Nic Stuber's 13.
WEST NOBLE 68, BETHANY CHRISTIAN 49: In Ligonier, Josh Gross scored 13 points to lead four players in double figure soring.
Mason Stover scored 12, Nick Knepper added 11 and Trevor Franklin chipped in 10.
GARRETT 45, PRAIRIE HEIGHTS 40: In Garrett, Kenzie Casselman scored a game-high 27 points on 7-for-11 3-point shooting to lead the Railroaders.
Garrett tailed 22-14 at halftime but went ahead by outscoring the visitors 15-6 in the third quarter and drew away with a 16-12 advantage in the fourth.
