Northrop girls stay undefeated

JOURNAL GAZETTE

The Northrop girls basketball team defeated Bishop Dwenger 66-59 on Friday to remain undefeated.

The teams were tied at 33 at halftime but the Bruins (7-0, 3-0 SAC) outscored the Saints (5-2, 1-1) 20-13 in the third quarter.

Niomi Dube scored 19 for Northrop, Arielle Thatcher added 15, Morgan Hughes had 11, Breanna Douglas had 10 points and 12 rebounds and Alicia Tiney-Williams had 10 rebounds.

Olivia Sterba scored 17 to lead the Saints and Ellen Ross added 14 points and nine rebounds.

SOUTH SIDE 65, SNIDER 43: At Snider, Taniece Chapman had 16 points for the Archers (5-0, 3-0 SAC), Mikeba Jones and Shamari Jackson each added 15 and Jaci Jones 10.

BISHOP LUERS 61, NORTH SIDE 27: At North Side, Lydia Reimbold scored 21 and Kathryn Knapke added 15 for the Knights (6-2, 1-2 SAC).

CONCORDIA 83, WAYNE 16: At Concordia, Carissa Garcia scored 32 for the Cadets (6-3, 1-2), CC Calloway added 13 and Libby Hetler and Nautica Rogers each scored 10.

ANGOLA 46, CENTRAL NOBLE 30: At Central Noble, Ali Lorntz scored 11 points and added three assists and four steals for the Hornets (9-2, 4-1 NECC) as they handed the Cougars (6-1, 3-1) their first loss of the season.

Boys

CONCORDIA 60, CANTERBURY 48: At Canterbury, Adam Gottschalk scored 15 and Brayden Pearson added 14 for the Cadets (1-1).

The Cavaliers (1-2) were led by Will Shank, who had 14, and Noah Drapala and Noah Wolfe who each scored 12.

SOUTH ADAMS 56, BLUFFTON 53: At Bluffton, Lars In't Groen led the Starfires (2-1, 1-0 ACAC) with 17 points, Kody Fike added 12 and Spencer Clark 11.

Max Corle scored 16 and Gavin King added 11 for the Tigers (0-2, 0-1).

HUNTINGTON NORTH 49, SOUTHWOOD 46: At Huntington North, Mitch Geller scored 21 points on 7 of 10 shooting and 7 of 9 from the free-throw line and added 10 rebounds for the Vikings (3-0).

EASTSIDE 43, EDGERTON (OH) 40: At Edgerton, Aaron Dean scored 19 and Alex Yoder added 12 to lift the Blazers (1-2).

WAWASEE 38, MANCHESTER 36: At Manchester, Trevon Coleman scored 13 points to lead the Warriors (1-1).
