Vikings beat Bulldogs to get 3rd in tourney
The Huntington North boys basketball team beat Northeast Eight rival New Haven 63-55 in overtime for third place in the Huntington North/Columbia City Tournament on Friday.
The Vikings outscored the Bulldogs 16-6 in the fourth quarter to send the game into the extra session.
Huntington North (12-2) got 20 points from Zach Daugherty and 15 points and 10 rebounds from Mitch Geller.
Brecar Clark led New Haven (7-4) with 15 points, while Zach Latham and Donovynn Lewis each had 11 points.
Hamilton Southeastern beat Lake Central 58-44 for the tourney championship.
Also, Leo beat Columbia City 62-54 for seventh place; Norwell beat Bellmont 65-35 for ninth place; and Lighthouse CPA beat Whitko 78-68 for 11th.
BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 75, BROWNSTOWN CENTRAL 65: The Class A No. 5 Braves beat the 3A No. 8 Braves at the North Davies Tournament.
Blackhawk Christian (8-1) will face 1A No. 1 Barr-Reeve in the 7:30 p.m. championship game today.
Frankie Davidson had 22 points for the Braves, while Jalan Mull added 17 and Caleb Furst 15.
FREMONT 84, ONSTED (Mich.) 75: The Eagles won in the inaugural North Central (Michigan) tournament.
Fremont (4-6) won its third straight game.
SOUTH BEND ST. JOSEPH 34, WAWASEE 30: The Warriors fell in the finals of the Wawasee Tournament.
Wawasee (3-5) got 12 points from Austin Miller and nine from Trevon Coleman.
