Blackhawk knocks off No. 1-ranked team

The Class A No. 5 Blackhawk Christian boys basketball team won the North Davies Tournament with a 68-48 win over 1A top-ranked Barr-Reeve on Saturday. 

The Braves (10-1) won their eighth straight game. 

Jalan Mull led Blackhawk Christian with 16 points.

Caleb Furst had 15 points and five rebounds, and Frankie Davidson and Devon Donaldson each had 12 points.

GRACE COLLEGE CLASSIC: Warsaw fell to Zionsville 48-36 and beat Fishers 43-38 in the invitational at Grace. 

Valparaiso, coached by former Northrop coach Barak Coolman, lost to Zionsville 67-55 and Fishers 62-45.  

Girls basketball

MONROE CENTRAL 44, SOUTH ADAMS 40: The Starfires (8-6) lost at home in the finals of the Amy Meyer tournament, despite 20 points from Lexi Dellinger@Sports roundup body:. 

South Adams (8-6) got 20 points from Lexi Dellinger and 12 from Madi Wurster.

NORWELL 52, WAWASEE 44: The Knights beat the Warriors at the Plymouth Shootout. 

Logan Rowles had 16 points and Aubrey Dunnuck 15 for Norwell (10-4). Casey Schroder had 14 points for Wawasee (8-7). 

Also, Norwell beat Plymouth 47-34, and Wawasee beat Indianapolis Brebeuf 63-17. 


AL SMITH INVITATIONAL: Indianapolis Cathedral won the tournament with 233 points, topping runner-up Chesterton's 211.5. The Irish and Trojans each had three individual champions.

Garrett finished 12th with 101.5, Carroll was 18th with 81, Bellmont 22nd with 65 and Warsaw 31st with 30.
