Rosters set for Border Wars

The rosters have been released for the 2019 Nancy Rehm Border Wars, which honors the life and legacy of Bishop Luers graduate and Indiana Tech player Nancy Rehm.

After formal tryouts, 14 boys and 10 girls were selected to compete against Ohio. Three future Saint Francis Cougars will get some early action on their home floor. Norwell's Aubrey Dunnuck and Bishop Dwenger's Hayden Smithey have committed to play for the Cougars, and Wayne's Cameron Starks, who will be attending Saint Francis. Also on the boys team: Timon Kinnie, Wayne; Matt Kochanski, Dwenger; Jack Hilyard, Angola; Johnathan Irwin, Bluffton; Zac Bradtmiller, Homestead; Trent Loomis, Homestead; Shawn Ferrell, Wayne; Brent Cox, East Noble; Ridley Zolman, Central Noble; Chyron Primas, New Haven; Frankie Davidson, Blackhawk Christian; and Demarea Dial, New Haven. The boys will be coached by Blackhawk Christian coach Marc Davidson.

Homestead lands four on the girls team – Sylare Starks, Julia Huey, Haley Swing and Liv Seifert. Central Noble's Sydney Freeman, Warsaw's Maddie Ryman, Bellmont's Grace Hunter, Tippecanoe Valley's Sophie Bussard and Northrop's Treva Datcher round out the girls team. Bluffton's Karl Grau will coach the team.

The unique opportunity, which allows many high school seniors to play for a likely final time, will be held on April 28 at Hutzell Athletic Center on the campus of Saint Francis. The girls game tips at 2:08 p.m. with the boys at 4:22 p.m.
