Jones leads Mad Ants to another win

DeQuan Jones had 26 points and eight rebounds for the Mad Ants, who staved off a second-half comeback and defeated the Grand Rapids Drive 115-104 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Wednesday.

It was the fifth straight victory for the Mad Ants (25-15), who extended their lead in the Central Division to 31/2 games and ended the season-best eight-game winning streak of Grand Rapids (22-19).

The Mad Ants had a 53-37 halftime lead, but the Drive got back into it with a 40-32 third-quarter run.

Jarrod Uthoff had 19 points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Mad Ants, and Ben Moore had 17 points.

Tra-Deon Hollins had 12 points and 10 assists. All his points came from 3-point range; he was 4 of 9 from beyond the arc.

Grand Rapids was paced by K.J. McDaniels' 22 points. The Drive outscored Fort Wayne by six with him on the floor.

The Mad Ants had a 19-17 lead before their 34-20 run in the second quarter gave them the 16-point halftime lead.

Fort Wayne was without Edmond Sumner for a fourth straight game because of bereavement leave.
