Mets' DeGrom to get MRI
ST. LOUIS – Mets ace Jacob deGrom is returning to New York for an MRI on his right elbow after shaky outings in his last two starts.
The reigning NL Cy Young Award winner was scratched from his start today in St. Louis. Mets manage Mickey Callaway said deGrom's elbow was “barking” Friday, a day after playing catch during Thursday's off day.
DeGrom is 2-2 with a 3.68 ERA in four starts this season.
Indians' Lindor set for season debut
Cleveland All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor says he is ready to make his season debut. Lindor sat out Cleveland's first 18 games with a sprained ankle he suffered during spring training in Arizona while recovering from an offseason calf injury. Lindor likely will be in Cleveland's lineup this weekend against Atlanta.
Boston placed infielder Eduardo Núńez on the 10-day injured list with a mid-back strain, and said right-handed pitcher Erasmo Ramírez was designated for assignment. Second baseman Dustin Pedoria got good news about the irritation in his left knee that caused his return to the 10-day injured list Thursday.
