TinCaps win opener, lose 2nd game in 8th
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Kaleo Johnson hit a game-winning single with one out in the eighth inning to give the Bowling Green Hot Rods a 4-3 victory over the TinCaps and a split of a doubleheader Sunday.
The TinCaps won the opener 6-0 in the completion of a game suspended from Saturday. Michael Curry hit a home for the TinCaps, and Henry Henry (3-0) pitched 42/3 innings to get the win.
In the second game, which was scheduled for seven innings, Bryce Brown scored the game-winning run after he led off the eighth inning with a single, advanced to second on a single by Michael Smith and then went to third on an error.
Earlier in the inning, Smith singled home Jake Palomaki to tie the game 3-3.
Fort Wayne took a 3-2 lead in the eighth when Xavier Edwards scored on an error.
