TinCaps shut down by Dragons' starter

DAYTON, Ohio – Jacob Heatherly allowed just two hits over five innings, leading the Dayton Dragons over the Fort Wayne TinCaps 4-0 on Monday.

Heatherly (1-1) struck out five to pick up the win.

In the first inning, Dayton went up 2-0 after Shard Munroe hit an RBI triple and then scored on a wild pitch.

The Dragons scored again in the eighth inning when Jay Schuyler hit a two-run double.

Angel Acevedo (0-1) went six innings, allowing two runs and four hits while striking out seven in the Midwest League game.

The TinCaps were shut out for the first time this season. It was the Dragons' second shutout of the season.

The loss was a first for Fort Wayne, which had won its first four against Dayton this season heading in.
