Wisconsin 3 TinCaps 2
New reliever loses lead as TinCaps fall
Agustin Ruiz ripped a two-run double and Efrain Contreras pitched five innings, giving up just one run and striking out four, but reliever Nick Kuzia was unable to hold a one-run lead in the sixth and the TinCaps fell 3-2 to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Tuesday at Fox Cities Stadium in Wisconsin.
The TinCaps (13-18) have not won back-to-back games since a four-game win streak April 8-11.
Note: TinCaps president Mike Nutter, who has been with the team since 1999, will be inducted into the Northeast Indiana Baseball Association Hall of Fame with the 2019 class May 19.
He will join Huntington University baseball coach Mike Frame and Mike Marchesano, a Fort Wayne native and Elmhurst graduate who pitched in the Olympics for Italy in 2004. Tickets for the ceremony at Classic Cafe Catering and Event Center are $25 and can be bought via PayPal at FWNEIBA@gmail.com.
