DNR seeking 6 for board
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is looking for nominations for six openings on the Indiana Trails Advisory Board.
The board advises the DNR director on important matters and shares news, best practices and resources with the trails community, according to a release from the department.
Nominees should be involved with a local or statewide trails-oriented organization and openings are for representatives for bicyclists, off-road motorcycles, parks and recreation agencies, water trail users, higher education and health and equestrians.
Nominations will be accepted from Dec. 1 through 30.
Meetings are the first Thursday of March, September and December and the last Thursday in June. All meetings begin at 3 p.m. and locations vary throughout the state.

Senior lunch to celebrate Salamonie
The next Salamonie Senior Luncheon is noon Dec. 4 at the Salamonie Lake Interpretive Center. The lunch will celebrate “50 Years of Salamonie Lake” with audience members and past and present employees sharing memories. The main dish will be sloppy Joe sandwiches and guests should bring a side dish to share, their own beverage and table service. A $1 donation will be accepted.
