Fishing, recreation guides on DNR site

The 2018 Indiana Department of Natural Resources Recreation and Fishing guides are now available online.

The recreation guide features information on state parks, lakes, State Park Inns, fish and wildlife areas, state forests and other DNR properties.

The 2018-19 Indiana Fishing Regulation Guide features information on buying licenses and stamps, where to fish, fees, exemptions, size and bag limits statewide and boating rules and regulations. The regulations are also broken down into categories for catfish, black bass, inland trout, reptiles and amphibians, the Ohio River and Lake Michigan and tributaries.

Salamonie to host Cowboy Gathering

The Cowboy Gathering will teach participants about the Badlands and Black Hills of South Dakota and the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming beginning at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Salamonie Interpretive Center. A meal of sloppy joe sandwiches will be provided and guests are encouraged to bring a side dish to share.

Tammy Pairitz, Cindy Grove, Debby Bailey and Theresa Daumer are the presenters and will relive their summer vacation out West, according to a release from the DNR.
