Two people were hurt, one critically, in a one-truck crash in DeKalb County, the county sheriff's department said today.

Bobby Double, 41, of Butler was driving north on County Road 61 at County Road 12 just before 7 a.m. when his truck began to slide on the icy road, the sheriff's department said in a statement. It said the truck left the west side of the road, struck a utility pole and came to rest in a field.

Double was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne in critical condition with abdominal injuries, the statement said. His passenger, Ida DeLong, 44, of Butler was taken to Parkview DeKalb Hospital with shoulder injuries.

Butler police, Hamilton firefighters and Parkview DeKalb EMS assisted, the sheriff's department said.
