Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana issued the following news release today:
Fort Wayne, Ind. - Vendor and non-profit applications are now open for the 2020 Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana (YLNI) Farmers Market at Barr Street.
Located in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne at the northeast corner of Barr and Wayne Streets, the YLNI Farmers Market, operated by Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana, presents a vibrant, open-air outdoor market experience.
Due to increased demand and the popularity of the organization's ongoing Saturday markets, the market is extending its season, which begins on Saturday, May 2 and runs through Sept. 26.
The market is also extending its footprint to include Berry Street, which will close each Saturday.
"What an exciting season we have planned." Ashley Wagner, YLNI Farmers Market manager said. "Thanks again to Kyle Winling at the city for always working with us to expand our ever growing market."
Farm inspections will be conducted to ensure our market remains producer only.
The market will continue to offer cocktails and beer in an expanded family friendly area.
"As always you can expect to see local vendors, musicians, non-profits, free yoga, specialty cocktails, and new this year a children's program that will enable children to choose their own produce," Wagner said.
Vendors can apply to be at the market at www.ylni.org/ylni-farmers-market. Aspiring and veteran vendors can attend an informational meeting at 6 pm on March 10 at the History Center, 302 E. Berry St., Fort Wayne.
Media are invited to take photos and/or video of any of the ongoing farmers markets throughout the season.
