INDIANAPOLIS -- Gov. Eric Holcomb started quarantining Tuesday after several members of his security detail tested positive for COVID-19.
State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box advised that Eric Holcomb and First Lady Janet Holcomb are considered close contacts. Both will be tested later this week.
The Indiana Department of Health will perform the contact tracing for the couple, as well as for the security detail.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention call for close contacts to quarantine for 14 days after the last contact with a person who has COVID-19.
Earlier this year Box contracted COVID-19 and isolated for several weeks.
Box and Dr. Lindsay Weaver will lead Wednesday’s weekly COVID briefing, and the governor will join by phone.
