1 found dead in Defiance house fire

Firefighters responding to a Defiance, Ohio, house fire early today found a body inside the residence, the Defiance County sheriff's office said.

Firefighters were called to a house fire in the 4300 block of East Rolling Meadows Boulevard shortly after 1 a.m., and found the body at 1:51 a.m., the sheriff's office said in a statement.

The residence is owned by Junior W. Dockery, who is currently residing outside the United States, the statement said.

The Lucas County, Ohio, coroner's office in Toledo will determine the identity of the victim, the statement said.

The case is being investigated by the county sheriff's and coroner's offices, the Noble Township Fire Department and the state fire marshal's office.
