Fla. woman faces drug charges after Toll Road traffic stop

The Journal Gazette

A 39-year-old Orlando, Florida, woman faces misdemeanor drug charges after a traffic stop on the Indiana Toll Road in LaGrange County early Thursday, state police said today.

State police at Bremen said a trooper saw a black Jeep Liberty commit several moving violations as it traveled in front of him about 12:40 a.m. four miles west of the Howe-LaGrange exit.

The trooper stopped the vehicle and purportedly could smell marijuana, police said. The driver provided a license that did not appear to match her, they said.

While conducting a search of the vehicle, police said they found a different driver's license that positively identified the driver, as well as a loaded handgun, several plastic bags with suspected marijuana, a pill identified as a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

The driver was arrested on five misdemeanor charges and taken to the LaGrange County Jail, police said.
