Hoosier senators help confirm Pompeo

BRIAN FRANCISCO | The Journal Gazette

Both U.S. senators from Indiana – Republican Todd Young and Democrat Joe Donnelly – voted Thursday in favor of confirming CIA Director Mike Pompeo as secretary of state.
The Senate confirmed Pompeo in a 57-42 vote. Donnelly was among five Democratic senators who supported President Donald Trump's choice to replace Rex Tillerson, whom Trump fired in March.

Donnelly had announced Monday that he would vote to confirm Pompeo. The same day, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, of which Young is a member, voted along party lines to advance the Pompeo nomination to the full Senate.
