A Fort Wayne man was sentenced today to 44 years in prison for raping a woman in August 2017.
Zachary Callantine, 24, forced the woman onto his bed, put a serrated kitchen knife to her neck and told her he'd slit her throat if she screamed, according to court documents. He was charged with rape, criminal confinement and strangulation.
A jury convicted him in February of all the charges.
Callantine was sentenced today in Allen Superior Court to 40 years on the rape charge and two years each on the other charges. The sentences will be served back to back.
