A man police say shot another man May 15 on Sherman Boulevard is scheduled to stand trial Aug. 13.
Bryant Aron, 34, shot Thomas Atkins several times, investigators said.
He reportedly fled from officers who tried to stop him May 25 after failing to make a complete stop at Harris Street and Coliseum Boulevard. Aron had methamphetamine on him when he was captured, a probable cause affidavit states.
He is charged with several felonies including unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and carrying a handgun with a felony conviction within the past 15 years.
An Allen County magistrate set the trial date today.
