Fort Wayne to offer cooling station at conservatory

The Journal Gazette

The lobby of the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory will serve as a cooling station today because of high temperatures and heat indices forecast for the area, the city of Fort Wayne said today.

The cooling station will be available from noon to 6 p.m. today at the conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St., the city said in a statement.

It said the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission serves as the primary cooling station in the city, opening as a cooling station from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. when temperatures reach 80 degrees.
