Thunderstorms are possible today and tonight in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, the National Weather Service said.
Some of the stronger storms may bring wind gusts of more than 50 mph this afternoon into tonight, mainly south of U.S. 30, the weather service said.
It said periodic storms are possible through Sunday that could bring locally heavy rain and strong winds. Afternoon heat indeces are expected to rise into the low to mid 90s Thursday and Friday.
In an area that includes Mercer County, Ohio, isolated severe storms are possible today with damaging winds and very heavy rain, the weather service said. It said afternoon heat-index values may reach into the mid-90s.
