A Warsaw employer has been selected to participate in the state's new multi-million dollar Anchor Employer Workforce Housing Program.
The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority announced Thursday that Zimmer Biomet had been chosen, along with French Lick Resort, Impact CNC and IU Health.
A $4 million Community Development Authority investment -- $1 million for each -- will be matched or exceeded by each participating employer, with the funding used to develop workforce housing in their communities.
“We are pleased to partner with these key employers on this innovative approach to addressing the workforce housing needs in our state,” Indiana Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch said in a statement. "By participating in this new program, these organizations further prove how important housing is in attracting and retaining talent."
In a Request for Proposals released in June, the Community Development Authority asked employers to think creatively and develop a proposal specifically tailored to the needs of their community. As part of their proposal, they were also required to submit a Workforce Housing Investment Strategy, an investment plan and metrics for tracking success.
