Bedroom dressers recalled
The Journal Gazette
E&E Co. Ltd., doing business as JLA Home of Fremont, California, has recalled about 1,800 three-drawer bedroom dressers that pose tipover and entrapment hazards if not anchored to the wall, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced.
The recall involves INK+IVY Renu dresers made from multicolored pine wood, the commission said in a statement. The dressers have metal legs, are about 36 inches tall and weigh about 73 pounds. Stickers on the back say "E&E CO., LTD.," the date of manufacture, PO numbers and the words "MADE IN VIETNAM."
They were sold online for about $350 from January 2017 through September 2019 at bedbathandbeyond.com, jcpenney.com. kohls.com, macys.com, ollix.com, overstock.com and wayfair.com.
Consumers should stop using the recalled dressers unless properly anchored to the wall and place them in an area children cannot access, the statement said.
It said consumers should contact E&E for a full refund with free dresser pick-up or a free tipover restraint kit and a one-time free in-home installation of the kit. They may also choose to receive a prepaid packaging label to ship their recalled dresser back to E&E for a refund check or a $400 DesignerLiving.com store credit.
E&E can be reached toll-free at 844-701-5979 from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Fort Wayne time weekdays, or go to www.ee1994.com and click on Recall.
