Husband sentenced to 55 years in wife's slaying

Tyrin Boone was ordered this morning to spend 55 years in prison for slashing his wife's throat, killing her.
Janaya Michelle Boone, 38, was found Dec. 12 in a room by a motel employee at the Regency Inn on Coliseum Boulevard West. Investigators said her throat had been cut. Tyrin Boone, 41, was arrested and charged with murder after a witness told police he saw him pull a knife from underneath a mattress and get on top of his wife.
"I thought he was going to stab her in the eye," the man said, according to court documents.
Tyrin Boone pleaded guilty in October, and a plea agreement called for him to spend 55 years behind bars. A judge agreed and sentenced him today in Allen Superior Court.
