The National Weather Service has issued a high-wind warning in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Southwest winds of 30 mph to 40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph, are expected, the weather service said. It said winds will blow down trees and power lines, and power outages are expected.
Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles on north-south roads, the weather service said, and people should use caution if they must drive.
Avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches, it said; if possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm and avoid windows.
