A high-wind warning remains in effect until 9 p.m. in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, the National Weather Service said.
Winds of 30 mph to 40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph are expected, the weather service said.
The winds will blow down trees and power lines, and power outages are expected, it said. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, the weather service said, and people should use caution if they must drive.
If possible, remain in the lower levels during the storm and avoid windows, the weather service said. It said people should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches.
