Suspect charged in molesting of 2 children in Oklahoma, Fort Wayne

Matthew LeBlanc | The Journal Gazette

An Oklahoma man is charged with molesting two children there and in Fort Wayne in 2017 and 2018.

Jamarcus Eldridge, 33, had sex with a 13-year-old who "is a female but identifies as being male gendered," according to court documents filed today in Allen Superior Court. He also fondled a girl who is 10 years old, Fort Wayne Police Officer Kenneth Johnson wrote in a probable cause affidavit.

The older child told investigators the abuse began when the child was nine years old.

Eldridge moved back and forth between Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Fort Wayne, the documents state. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Officials in Oklahoma interviewed the older child in April and the Indiana Department of Child Services was contacted.

Both children told investigators Eldridge drank a lot and smoked marijuana. He is charged with five counts of child molesting, and three of the charges are Level 1 felonies punishable by up to 40 years in prison.
