The longtime former CEO of Shindigz, one of the world’s largest internet party retailers, is taking the helm again.
The Fort Wayne-based company today announced Shep Moyle, who owns Shindigz with his wife Wendy, will assume the new role effective immediately.
Moyle, who had served as chief executive for more than 25 years, left day-to-day management five years ago to serve as chairman of the board and to pursue various outside interests.
A widely known and respected business leader, Moyle was selected as a Fellow in the Harvard University Advanced Leadership Initiative. He moved to Boston to study across all Harvard graduate and undergraduate programs and to work on a project to “change the world,” a news release from Shindigz said.
Moyle’s project focus has been to "disrupt the process of medical research" at academic medical centers and to transform the “bench to bedside” process to reduce the time and cost of bringing lifesaving cures to patients, the release said.
Moyle and his wife are continuing that effort with a "breakthrough start up research initiative" to help cure pediatric brain tumors in collaboration with Duke University and the University of California San Francisco.
Shindigz recently established its headquarters in downtown Fort Wayne, but still has operations in South Whitley that employ 250.
“I am excited and energized to return to the leadership of this amazing team and company," said Moyle, 57.
