A flood watch remains in effect from Friday evening to Saturday evening for northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, the National Weather Service said today.
Widespread moderate to heavy rain will occur, and total rain amounts of 3 to 5 inches are likely across the area, the weather service said. It said the heaviest rates are expected tonight into Saturday morning, especially in embedded thunderstorms.
Flooding of streams, creeks and low-lying areas, including roads and underpasses, is expected, the weather service said. It said significant river flooding is expected later this weekend and into much of next week.
Those people living in flood-prone areas should be prepared to take action if flooding develops, the weather service said.
