The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Huntington, Wabash, Wells and parts of Adams and Kosciusko counties until 4:45 p.m.
At 1040 a.m., weather-service radar and automated gauges indicated heavy rain that will move into the area, the weather service said.
It said rainfall of up to 2 inches has fallen within the last 24 hours, with an additional 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches possible into this afternoon.
The additional rainfall will cause increased runoff, which will result in flooding of poor drainage areas as well as rapid rises on rivers and creeks.
Locations that will experience flooding include Huntington, Wabash, Bluffton, North Manchester, Berne and Geneva.
