Two adults were hurt, one with life-threatening injuries, in a two-vehicle crash on St. Joe Center Road this morning, Fort Wayne police said.
Police said they were called to the 4400 block of St. Joe Center at 9:48 a.m. after several callers reported a crash with a person pinned in a vehicle.
Officers and firefighters were able to extract an adult woman thought to be pinned, police said. She was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
An adult man in the other car was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
According to the preliminary investigation, the male driver, going east on St. Joe Center, crossed the center line for an unknown reason and collided with the female driver, who was traveling west.
The west lanes and one east lane of St. Joe Center were shut down for about 1 1/2 hours during the investigation, but have since reopened, police said.
