Allen County health officials today reported more than double the number of new COVID-19 cases reported in recent days -- and a new pandemic record.
However, some of the new cases likely result from adding together cases found during a period of several days, said Matt LeBlanc, Allen County Department of Health spokesman.
Another 1,244 residents were reported as testing positive today. The previous one-day high is 651 new cases reported on Dec. 30.
The new cases more than double the 548 new cases reported Tuesday.
The surge in local cases bring the total number of Allen County cases to 78,932. No new deaths were reported to add to the 967 Allen County deaths.
